Air Duct Cleaning Is:
Most people are now aware that indoor air pollution is an issue of growing concern and increased visibility. Many companies are marketing products and services intended to improve the quality of your indoor air.
You have probably seen an advertisement, received a coupon in the mail, or been approached directly by a company offering to clean your air ducts as a means of improving your home's indoor air quality.
Duct cleaning generally refers to the cleaning of various heating and cooling system components of forced air systems, including the supply and return air ducts and registers, grilles and diffusers, heat exchangers heating and cooling coils, condensate drain pans (drip pans), fan motor and fan housing, and the air handling unit housing.
If not properly installed, maintained, and operated, these components may become contaminated with particles of dust, pollen or other debris.
If moisture is present, the potential for microbiological growth (e.g., mold) is increased and spores from such growth may be released into the home's living space. Some of these contaminants may cause allergic reactions or other symptoms in people if they are exposed to them.
If you decide to have your heating and cooling system cleaned, it is important to make sure the service provider agrees to clean all components of the system and is qualified to do so. Failure to clean a component of a contaminated system can result in re-contamination of the entire system, thus negating any potential benefits. Methods of duct cleaning vary, although standards have been established by industry associations concerned with air duct cleaning. Typically, a service provider will use specialized tools to dislodge dirt and other debris in ducts, then vacuum them out with a high-powered vacuum cleaner.
Note: Use of sealants to encapsulate the inside surfaces of ducts is a different practice than sealing duct air leaks. Sealing duct air leaks can help save energy on heating and cooling bills. For more information, see EPA's www.energystar.gov/ducts
American Lung Association Facts:
Poor indoor air quality can cause or contribute to the development of chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and hypersensitivity pneumonitis. In addition, poor indoor air quality can cause headaches, dry eyes, nasal congestion, nausea and fatigue.
People who already have respiratory diseases are at greater risk.
Each person inhales over 3,500 gallons of air each day. Children inhale more air for their size than adolescents or adults.
Contaminated air causes 94% of all respiratory problems.
Approximately 40,000 dust mites and their feces, the most common and misunderstood cause of allergies, can live in one ounce of dust.
Each person sheds up to 700,000 skin flakes per day. Those skin flakes are the staple diet of the dust mite.
Even in very clean homes, approximately 40 pounds of dust is generated each year per 1,500 sq.ft. of living space.
80% of the household dust you see floating on a ray of sunshine in your home is dead human skin flakes. Only 10% of all indoor airborne contaminants are visible to the naked eye.

INCLUDED IN THE DUCT CLEANING PROCESS;
BLOWER WHEEL - The blower wheel is what pulls the air from the returns and pushes that air through your supplies and that's the air that you breathe. However, because it pulls the air from your return, it can build up with dust, hair, animal dander, mildew, and so on. That's the same pollution that pushes through your supply and that's what people tend to inhale on a daily basis.
EVAPORATOR COILS - If your evaporator coils get clogged up with debris such as, hair, dust, animal dander, and etc. It will cause your system to work harder and that's when other problems may occur which will cost you more MONEY!Cleaning your evaporator coils is a MUST.
DUCTWORK- The ductwork supplies you with the heating and cooling to your satisfaction. Without being cleaned, it starts to get a build of all kinds of debris and air pollution that may stick to the surrounding wall. Our duct cleaning equipment can brush off the debris and pollution while vacuuming it all at the same time.
